Decision Check (Pre-Application Review)
Are you sure this is the right decision to proceed?
In residence status matters, the key issue is not always “Can I apply?” but rather “Should I apply now?”
About this page
There are situations where:
• applying now may create future risk
• a status change looks acceptable on paper but is poorly timed
• decisions involving housing, employment, or renewal involve hidden issues
Even when a case appears formally acceptable, certain decisions may be viewed negatively later in practice. This page is a decision check — not an application service — designed to pause and review whether your current judgment is appropriate.
In some cases, the safest conclusion may be to take no action at this time. That outcome is perfectly acceptable. Avoiding a wrong decision is more important than proceeding too quickly.
This decision check is intended for those who:
✔ Are considering an application or change, but unsure about timing
You may be eligible on paper, but uncertain whether now is the right time to proceed.
✔ Are responsible for decisions related to housing or employment
You are involved in housing contracts, employment start, or continuation — and need a careful, defensible judgment.
✔ Have concerns about past circumstances
For example: gaps in residence history, changes in job duties or employment conditions, or changes in family or living situation — and you feel that a simple formal check is not sufficient.
✔ Want confirmation of judgment, not full support
You do not necessarily want to engage a full application service, but would like a professional confirmation of your decision. The review may conclude with “do nothing for now.”
